Exciting Progress Ahead: Northfleet Harbourside Development

We are excited to share updates on the Northfleet Harbourside project. This ambitious waterfront development aims to revitalise an underutilised area in Gravesend, Kent, UK. Recently, Gravesham Borough Council granted planning permission for the scheme. We are eager to collaborate with our development partners to move the project forward.

A New Vision for Northfleet

Located along the River Thames, the 50-acre Northfleet Harbourside site will transform into a vibrant new community. It will feature parks, green spaces, and a lively retail and leisure destination. The development will deliver 3,500 much-needed homes, including private and affordable housing. These homes will address local demand while creating a modern, sustainable neighbourhood.

The project also includes 300,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space. This space will feature shops, restaurants, bars, cafés, and experiential leisure opportunities. A 300-bed hotel and 150,000 sq ft of commercial office space will further enhance the area. Northfleet Harbourside will become a bustling hub for locals and visitors alike.

A Boost for the Local Community

The Northfleet Harbourside development will drive regeneration along this stretch of the River Thames. It will revitalise the area and bring long-term benefits to the community. We are particularly excited about the local economic boost. The project will create 3,000 new jobs during and after construction.

The development will also improve local services. New community facilities, medical and sports amenities, and upgraded pedestrian and cycle paths will transform the area.

One of the standout features is a new 8,000-capacity stadium for Ebbsfleet United Football Club. This stadium will secure the club’s long-term future. It will also provide better facilities for fans and the wider community. The stadium will serve as a focal point for sporting events and community activities.

Damian Irvine, Chief Executive Officer of Ebbsfleet United Football Club, commented:
“Today marks a truly significant day in our club’s great history and for the people of Northfleet and Gravesend. This outcome reflects months of hard work and collaboration with Gravesham Borough Council, our development partners, and investors. The football club’s long-term sustainability and a positive future for generations have been secured.”

Looking Ahead

With outline planning consent granted, we are ready to begin the next phase of development. The Northfleet Harbourside Development Company will continue working with Gravesham Borough Council to refine detailed plans. Our goal is to create a vibrant, sustainable community that offers new opportunities for residents.

As the project advances, we will share updates on key milestones. Northfleet Harbourside represents a bright future for Gravesend and Northfleet. We are proud to contribute to this transformational journey.
