One of the biggest fixtures in the racing calendar – the  Galway Races at Ballybrit – is a unique and highly anticipated event and one which the C+W O’Brien Architects team could not afford to miss.

The second day of the races saw C+W O’Brien Architects and their clients and friends descend on Galway for a great day at the 149th instalment of Ireland’s largest horse racing festival.

To kick-off the day we popped champagne and ate canapes while enjoying the exquisite architecture and landscape of the luxurious Carton House Hotel, dates back to the 17th century.

With all together and with an infectious energy in the air, we headed to the races to have a well-deserved evening out.

The Galway Races aren’t just for equestrian aficionados, they attract very varied crowds, which is why this is such a great event!  For us the evening went really well and we “had the craic”, placed a few bets and most of us had some luck on the horses.
