A multi-phased project of additions and renovations.

In Phase 1 a new office fit out was inserted above the gym floor within the existing gymnasium envelope. A new two storey glass atrium connects to the new level. The introduction of a curving roof atrium connects the existing to the new. The leisure centre remained in operation during the construction.

Phase 2 included new access, hydrotherapy, physio and speech therapy rooms and offices. The leisure centre was being upgraded to include the swimming pool, change facilities, fitness areas and public spaces. The entire centre contained the latest recommendations for special needs clients.

C+W O’Brien Architects designed a second-floor extension for the Whitfield Clinic in Co. Waterford.

The extension will provide a renal dialysis unit, 10 inpatient beds, a sports rehabilitation unit, consultant suites, administration and ancillary accommodation. The 3,222.5 sq. m extension increases the development to 12,763.1 sq. m.
